I previously blogged about the importance of printing your photos. We offer wall art in a variety of sizes. I want to talk about sizing your images. Most people think too small. Part of this is looking at an 11x14 print in your hand and seeing that it is large. However, when you put that image on a wall and step back, suddenly it shrinks.
Look at this image below:
Our customer sent us a cellphone picture of their living room wall after hanging their artwork. We had discussed where and how they wanted to hang these images. Look at how the wall absorbs the pictures. The center image is a 20x30 canvas, and the outer images are 11x14 canvases.
When we were discussing what images and sizes to put up, we showed a sample 20x30. And, in their kitchen, it looked huge. But see how this collection almost gets lost on their wall. We could have easily gone larger, more effectively filling the space.
Am I saying we sold the wrong sizes? Not necessarily. But we could have gone a size larger without overpowering the room.
My point is - don't be afraid to go big. Kim and I will help you pick and place your wall art. We will bring samples to your house or business to visualize what can work. We want you to look happily on your images.
