A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to travel to Florida for a day-long photoshoot/seminar with Sal Cincotta. Sal is an educator and one of the "names" in current photography scene. I'm always looking for new chances to learn and improve my craft so I can provide better service and images to you in the Lewisville/Flower Mound and Coppell area.
Sal worked with us to refine our skills as we were able to work with models and Westcott lighting equipment. This was especially helpful to me since I already use these lights and it was good to talk with the Westcott rep.
The use of flash in the outdoors works very well to get the subject to stand out from the background. This is not something you can get with a cell phone and just the available light.
We moved to the beach where we photographed Lilly with a goth look in the driftwood. We were working on a darker, edgier look for the photographs. I particularly enjoys the close-up portrait. You will see that often in my portfolio and I think it is something I can do for you in your portraits.
Next we went with Lexi to another part of the beach wo shoot "light-and-airy" portraits. This is a style popular with brides and Lexi did not disappoint. These are all natural light framing her with the driftwood in a much different look than the prior set with Lilly.
I'm always looking for ways to improve my skillset so I can better serve you. While a beach in Florida may not have a lot in common with Coppell, Texas, the techniques I learned and practiced do work here. You will see that in my next post about a family shoot in Flower Mound.
